Product description: Marston ceramic adhesive is a flexible two-component epoxy resin adhesive developed especially for the permanent bonding and coating of surfaces which are exposed to impacts, vibration or bending.
Instructions for use: Surface preparation: steel or concrete surfaces must be mechanically ground and/or degreased to create a clean and stable material surface which is free of loose rust, cement slurry, dust etc. Sandblasting, grinding and brushing with a wire brush are acceptable means of rubbing down. New concrete surfaces must first harden for 14-28 days depending on the ambient conditions. Marston ceramic adhesive can be applied to steel or concrete with a solid protective coating. Light sandblasting or treatment with emery paper then creates the necessary conditions for adhesion. An adhesion test is, however, always recommended.
Mixing and application: The hardener (A) to adhesive (B) mixing ratio is 1:1 by volume (1:1.68 by weight). An automatic dispenser is recommended for large applications or frequent small applications to guarantee a precise mixing ratio. The material must be mixed until it takes on an even appearance and is then applied to the appropriate location. The substrate temperature must be at least 3 to 5°C higher than the dew point for the respective ambient temperature and humidity to prevent surface condensation occurring. The application temperature must lie in the range between 5°C and 40°C.
Material consumption: As the adhesive is solvent-free, the thickness of the damp and dry adhesive is identical. This means that 1 litre of the mixed material at a film thickness of 1 mm is enough for 1 square metre without having to allow for shrinkage etc.
Cleaning: Surfaces must be clean and free from oil and grease.
Shelf life: 1 year if stored in a dry environment at 20°C - 30°C.
Packaging units: small: each 1 bucket adhesive 3,75 kg, hardener 2,25 kg large: each 1 bucket adhesive 7,5 kg, hardener 4,5 kg
